The Blending of Two Cultures

The Blending of Two Cultures

The blending of two cultures made for a beautiful day for Kara and Satyam! From creating a fairytale Hindu Ceremony in the morning to a Christian Ceremony in the evening, Kara and Satyam combined both of their cultures to create a memorable day for their friends and family.

The Proposal

Kara and Satyam took the trip of a lifetime to Italy. Satyam worked up enough courage to actually transport a ring internationally. On day 3, they took an unbelievable tour through Tuscany. Their first stop was a picturesque Renaissance town named Pienza. Kara and Satyam watched an expert ceramics maker create a masterpiece, tasted varieties of pecorino cheese, and ate gelato. Finally, they were standing over this gorgeous overlook of the Tuscan country side, and Satyam proposed. Afterwards, the newly engaged couple went to a farmhouse and ate a four course meal, climbed a castle, and went to a wine tasting at a local winery. Kara and Satyam both agreed that even if they hadn’t gotten engaged that day, it would have still been the best day of their lives.

The Ceremonies

We asked Kara and Satyam how they imagined their special day and their answer was a perfect description of what was created for them.

“Our main objective is findings some sort of blend between Indian and American culture. We’d like to have each individual ceremony be special in it’s own right, and then mix the two for an epic reception. I’d like the clothing in the Indian ceremony to be bright and vibrant incorporating red, dark purple, and peach.  As far as the Christian ceremony, I was thinking mostly ivory/champagne and gold with hints of green. The reception I think would be nice to blend the two using some of the decorations and flowers from the ceremonies. I love Indian elephants, and I was thinking having them in aspects of the design in the Indian ceremony and reception would be fabulous. My family is partially of Gaelic descent, and I think incorporating a hand fasting ceremony into the American ceremony would be lovely. I want it to feel transformed into a space that reflects both cultures and for guests to immediately feel welcomed.”

An 18 hour day and 2 weddings in 1 day didn’t stop our team from a successful day. No matter the size, logistics or design style our team of planners can assist with making  your vision a reality. We really enjoyed incorporating Kara’s bridal traditions and colors. Her vision of gilded elephants and soft blooms blended these two cultures so beautifully in their summer soiree. So many details were involved in making their envision come true, a dry ice ice cream bar and jello shots in syringes made for an interactive reception. With a 15 piece choir at their reception and a long day for all family and friends, Kara and Satyam definitely celebrated in style.

The entire Pop Parties team is the most organized, communicative, and on-it team I have encountered Their response time is unbelievable and made my entire wedding day stress-free. Not one detail was missed, and the wedding was the most beautiful and fun evening. They maintained professionalism, while also feeling like a close friend through the entire process. I could not recommend them enough.
