Congrats, you’ve (almost) made it through the shit show that has been 2020! It’s time to ring in the new year in style! 2021 will be your year, right? I for one, will not be hosting and toasting this year for fear of a 2020 repeat. Although it’s been a dumpster fire, there have still been several incredible things to celebrate.
As the holidays approach, maybe you’ve been eyeing something sparkling yourself? Today, I wanted to share a few tips on preparing for your engagement! A ring may be on the horizon, but whats next?
Follow wedding vendors whose work you love! Seeing what they post, and how they communicate will help you get to know them even before you say “yes” to your significant other. Think of it as window shopping without going in the store. If you look at the product long enough, you’ll know it’s a must have or that you can do without it. Having a vision for who and what you want will only help you to refine your search once the planning really begins.
Although finding vendors may seem like a daunting task, we don’t recommend reaching out until you are officially engaged. Contacting vendors when you aren’t 100% serious may lead to heart break later. What if the photographer you love is in your price point, but you don’t have a ring yet and by the time you get one – they are booked? Don’t set yourself up for disappointment early. Your engagement and planning should be fun!
Chances are, you know a proposal may be on the horizon. Talk to your family about “if” it happens what their expectations are for the wedding, and start to gather information about building a wedding budget. That way, when the ring comes, you’re ready to hit the ground running with the fun stuff!
Play it cool even if you think an engagement may be on the horizon soon. After all, the person you are marrying already knows you better than anyone! Don’t mirco-manage the proposal too. (Speaking from experience……) and make sure your manicure is always fresh, the moment may strike at anytime!
Even if you are unsure about hiring a professional wedding planner, contact one for a complimentary consultation. A wedding planner can give you valuable insight into cost expectations, and best practices during planning. The biggest mistake we see clients making is to book the venue first, and then hire a planner.
Although NYE may look a little different this year, I know you’ll be inspired by our champagne picks. Whether for the bride-to-be in your life, or your socially distant NYE soiree, there is something fun for everyone. After all, you owe it to yourself to celebrate the end of this year in style. It may be at home in our adorable champagne PJs with your own bottle of Veuve, but thats OK by me.

I often get asked “why is the company named Pop Parties?” The truth is, I hoped one day my company would be a lifestyle brand. I wanted to evolve into other aspects of luxury entertaining, but to still be fun and approachable.
I’d been brainstorming names for my new company for weeks. Champagne, the color pink, anything sparkling, and nothing seemed to stick. Then, one night at my old catering job I heard the confetti cannon “pop” on explosion. I knew immediately to combine my love for champagne and confetti in a fun name. As a lover of a good alliteration, Pop Parties was born.
Pop the champagne with us for a party in 2021 or 2022, but until then, we wish you a happy holiday season. May it be filled with safety, health, and a lot of champagne for you and your loved ones.
Cheers! Molly and the Pop Parties team
The entire Pop Parties team is the most organized, communicative, and on-it team I have encountered Their response time is unbelievable and made my entire wedding day stress-free. Not one detail was missed, and the wedding was the most beautiful and fun evening. They maintained professionalism, while also feeling like a close friend through the entire process. I could not recommend them enough.
