Peter and Lauren Wetzel said they wanted their wedding day to feel like “a party under the stars” and we delivered! The Nasher was a love at first sight venue. In fact- they cancelled every venue tour once they saw it! Their big day, featured a lot of marble and gold which runs through their current New York City apartment. The beautiful reception was inspired by the decor of Lauren’s favorite restaurant in NYC- ABC Kitchen.
We’re so excited that their wedding will be featured in D Weddings and Carats and Cake!
Peter and Lauren met just before attending business school at Duke. Both worked as career consultants for the same company, yet worked in completely different areas. Before starting school, they became close friends as they explored and worked in Mumbai, India for a global fellowship program. The rest is history!
Peter and Lauren were slowly moving to New York for Lauren’s new job and Peter was working most weeks in California. He planned a weekend for them in Manchester, Vermont to a town and spa that she had always wanted to visit. Peter surprised her with the trip on Friday. The next day they went for a walk near the mountains in the snowy woods of Vermont. He got down on one knee and proposed to her with a beautiful asscher cut diamond ring!
Lauren spent a lot of time in Dallas and Topo Chico quickly became her go to choice of drink! It can sometimes be difficult to find in states outside of Texas, so she loved the idea of sharing something at her wedding from her time in Dallas! This quickly took shape into a “hydration station” wall which incorporated the same design elements from the rest of the event.
The entire Pop Parties team is the most organized, communicative, and on-it team I have encountered Their response time is unbelievable and made my entire wedding day stress-free. Not one detail was missed, and the wedding was the most beautiful and fun evening. They maintained professionalism, while also feeling like a close friend through the entire process. I could not recommend them enough.
