Cynthia and Lionel’s glamorous Four Seasons wedding was nothing short of magical. The couple wanted to keep things simple and elegant at the ceremony. However, they wanted the reception, specifically the sweetheart table, to be ornate and glamorous! With the help from our good friends Bella Flora + Bella Accento, we were able to execute exactly this.
Cynthia and Lionel initially met on the residency interview trail during their last year of medical school. As part of their second look day at a program in Cleveland, they were given a tour of the city. While visiting “The West Side Market” (the oldest operating indoor/outdoor market space in the US), Cynthia spotted Lionel eyeing a lemon square. Cynthia then offered to pay for the lemon square, as he did not have cash. The remainder of the interview, he kept thanking her for it. Later that evening they hung out over dinner, and had brunch the following morning before leaving town. They were so engaged in the conversation that Cynthia ended up missing her flight. Following the trip, they continued to talk everyday and planned to meet up again at Mardi Gras later in the spring. They have been inseparable since.
After a grueling 2 weeks of one of the toughest rotations of residency, they planned to do a road trip down the Pacific Coast Highway in California to celebrate their 2-year anniversary. Upon landing in San Francisco on their first night, Lionel had planned a surprise dinner to celebrate Fat Tuesday and commemorate their first official date. The next day, they set out on an excursion down the Pacific Coast. At one of their planned stops in Half Moon Bay, we walked along the beach, and as Cynthia was taking a picture of Lionel, he got down on one knee and proposed, while a photographer he had hired captured the moment. Adding to the surprise, Lionel had booked an engagement dinner and stay at the Ritz Carlton Resort. They then continued our week-long engagement trip down the coast ending in San Diego.
When we asked Cynthia how she envisioned her glamorous Four Seasons ceremony she said, “keep it very organic, ethereal, with focus on sacredness of marriage ceremony. Light colors, and nothing dark or overpowering.”
“It’s time to party!” was Cynthia and Lionel’s mantra for their reception. In contract to their ceremony, they wanted a pop of color with visions of deep purple. Their focus was on an ornate sweetheart table and a must have was the gorgeous white dance-floor!

The entire Pop Parties team is the most organized, communicative, and on-it team I have encountered Their response time is unbelievable and made my entire wedding day stress-free. Not one detail was missed, and the wedding was the most beautiful and fun evening. They maintained professionalism, while also feeling like a close friend through the entire process. I could not recommend them enough.
