Outdoor Wedding Inspiration

As the weather gets nicer here in TX, we wanted to bring you some beautiful outdoor wedding inspiration! This fun couple’s big day was filled with tons of gorgeous blooms amongst Dallas’ hidden gem: Trinity River Audubon Center. Their wildlife preserve backdrop was the perfect setting for their luxe-boho day.

How they met

Justin’s family has been friends with Ryan’s Aunt, Uncle and two cousins since Ryan was born. There were times when Ryan was 2 and Justin was 6 and they were both playing in an inflatable pool at her grandparents lake house. Ryan grew up knowing about the Justin and his family, seeing them occasionally when they would visit her Aunt and Uncle. It seems though, they were never at the right age to “notice” or care about each other. It wasn’t until Ryan graduated college and moved to Dallas where Justin lived that they re-kindled their childhood bond. The two were each a bridesmaid and groomsmen in Ryan’s cousins wedding, where Justin noticed Ryan after all these years and mentioned they should grab a drink sometime. They did, and the rest is history!

Ryan and her mom Kristi hold a special place in my heart because they are so FUN! I get to work with some amazing families, and Ryan’s is right at the top of my list. Take a peek at some outdoor wedding inspiration from Ryan and Justin’s big day last fall!

Outdoor Wedding Inspiration

Ryan chose to incorporate blues and greens in a lush, Restoration Hardware inspired way. Floral designer, David Kimmel, really knocked it out of the park at each and every detail. Her custom letterpress invitation in copper and blue was the perfect way to kick off the event for guests. Their venue selection, Trinity River Audubon Center, is one of Dallas’ hidden gems. The nature preserve played host to 250 guests while DJ Andy Austin kept the party rocking.

I love clients who aren’t afraid to think outside the box. Their wedding cake by Fancy Cakes by Lauren was the prettiest ombre green with hints of fresh floral, and accented by a large magnolia tree to make the couple feel like they were truly able to cut the cake under the stars!
