What “Luxury” Means to Pop

“Luxury” — we hear that word tossed around a lot, especially when it comes to weddings. But contrary to what you might think, it’s not all about how much money you can spend. You could source the finest materials, work with the most reputable partners, and have a result that belongs on the cover of Vogue. But if at any point the guest (or host!) experience is interrupted by an easily preventable hiccup, you’re not getting what you paid for.

At Pop, “luxury” has a very different meaning, one that has more to do with the overall experience and how our clients and their guests feel.

Anticipating client needs

It’s one thing to respond to a client’s questions or concerns with sound advice and solutions. But what if you could skip that process entirely? We take it one step further and try to anticipate our clients’ needs ahead of time. Not getting bogged down by the little things we could have handled in advance ensures that deadlines are met, which makes everyone’s lives easier.

But that foresight isn’t just for logistics. Our clients, especially brides, go through a roller coaster of emotions throughout the planning process. This isn’t our first rodeo, so we’re very familiar with all the triggers and stressors that can send our clients into a spiral. There are many uncontrollable factors that will pop up throughout the process, and that can be anxiety-inducing. We do our best to prepare our clients for these emotional moments, reminding them that while they may feel overwhelmed, they can rest easy knowing that we have their backs.

This is luxury — feeling like you’re not just taken care of, but that your voice has been heard and your emotions and concerns have been validated.

Delivering on a vision

Even our most specific, detail-oriented clients appreciate when we not only give them what they want, but take it a step further to deliver on a vision they couldn’t see themselves. It’s not enough to just give you what you asked for; luxury demands more. We’re always looking for intentional ways to take inspiration from your vision and your passions to add those higher-touch details. We live for those “reaction” moments, when our clients can see that their event has far exceeded their expectations!

Invention and unique ideas

We never want to do the same thing twice. Our clients are all unique, and their events should be too. But luxury means not only keeping up with the industry, but more importantly, producing a fresh vision. We start with current interior and fashion design trends and use those as a jumping off point for a truly singular vision. Our favorite way to do this is by incorporating details that are both personal and unique to each of our clients and their families. These are the smallest things that make the biggest impact and what truly takes an event to the next level.

Top-tier customer service

Even with our wealth of knowledge and experience, we still feel like we need to show clients why we earned their business. This means taking customer service as seriously as production and execution. We guarantee our clients quick responses and flexible availability. We all have our own families and personal lives, but even sending a quick note to let the client know they’ve been heard and we’ll discuss more soon can make a huge impact. High-level hospitality isn’t negotiable, and it deepens our relationships with our clients, which in turn makes their events all the more special.

Transparency

Some planners may tiptoe around what they perceive to be “contentious” topics. But we don’t see it that way at all. Part of delivering luxury means having honest conversations around finances, vendor selections, and the value you’re getting (or not getting!) with certain choices. These conversations are essential to building trust with our clients — sugar-coating or sidestepping uncomfortable truths doesn’t do anyone any favors. This also extends to our own accountability. Whether a mistake is ours or not, deflecting blame or trying to do damage control has the opposite effect. It’s our job to own up to unmet expectations and ensure that a hiccup doesn’t create larger issues down the line. Our clients and our vendor partners deserve open, honest communication, no matter what.

We believe all of our clients deserve the “luxury” experience, no matter how much they’re spending. Rest assured you can count on us to make you feel taken care of, in all the ways we know equate to a five-star client experience!
