Black and White Wedding Inspo

So excited to wish our very own Pop Planner, Arianna, and her husband a happy one year anniversary! We’re having a fun little look back on her monochromatic affair. Arianna drew a lot of her wedding design inspiration from her personal style. The black, white, and silver theme brought elegance and glamour to the whole day – perfect for Arianna and Matthew! The decor throughout the room was designed to make a statement. For example, the black floral bases on the head table gave the space dimension and added a dramatic flair. To keep guests entertained, a Mariachi band was playing during dinner. Arianna and Matthew ended their night with a fun sparkler send off!

We asked Arianna what her favorite part of her big day was and here’s what she said:

“I was in awe of the cake! Going from my rough cake design sketch to reality was cool to see. I was really looking forward to that and our first dance that we learned only 2 months prior and Matt never dances so that was really sweet of him to do that for me.”

 

wedding drama – a note from Molly

Arianna and Molly actually met one day as Arianna interviewed Molly to be her wedding planner. After you get through the rest of this story, you’ll see why she is such a huge part of the Pop Parties team today. Matthew and Arianna were unlike most of our couples – they had been saving for years to have the soiree’ of Arianna’s dreams. Most of the time, our couples are lucky enough to have their families foot the whole bill, but emotions ran high surrounding this big day to make it extra special. Arianna is my ONLY bride in the last 10 years who has encountered so much turbulence leading up to wedding day, and she handled every bit of it with such grace and poise.  Unfortunately, thing’s can go wrong in planning a wedding or special event. We believe it’s how you handle the turbulence that shows who you are as a person and as a professional. Arianna is gracious, kind, patient, and dedicated to each detail. Knowing that she had to over come these obstacles for her own wedding day makes her the perfect, level headed wedding planner.

1. Arianna’s dream church  was under construction when we booked. Like all construction projects – nothing ever finishes on time. The congregation promised us that none of the construction would effect the inside of the church – so the gorgeous altar would remain intact. Fast forward 8 months of wedding planning and of course, the inside had scaffolding and construction taking place. Luckily, the talented Dyan Kethley was able to work those camera angles to get the most beautiful cathedral shots.
2. Arianna found her dream reception space, The Chandelier Room! Perfect for her black and white glam affair. As the name implies, the space  boasted lots of chandeliers! Unfortunately about six months before the wedding, the venue changed ownership. I got the call that the venue was getting a full remodel, and a new name. Renderings would be provided to us a few months later, but we had no idea what the space would even look like.  The first time she saw the space was on her wedding day!
3. We had a lot of entertainment planned for the evening, a great DJ, mariachi band and singers. The week of the wedding, the original mariachi band cancelled on us. Luckily, having a planner, we were able to find a new mariachi band for her that week, and they did a great job!

 

the moral of the story

The moral of the story is that a positive attitude goes a long way. Arianna was a gracious bride who had many obstacles thrown her way. Her eye for design and details is what led Molly to love her so much to make her a part of our team. Things to do wrong throughout the planning process and on wedding day. It’s the job of Pop Parties to ensure that our clients don’t know about them. (Unless we have to!) Arianna is a level headed, gracious and kind planner. She knows what it is like to be on both sides as a planner and bride, and is a huge asset to our team, and your wedding day vendor team.
