Bridesmaids aren’t the only ones who can get creative. Browse any “mother of the bride” section of a brand and you’ll be inundated with the same uninspired skirt and jacket sets. If you’re a mom (or grandma!) with a keen fashion sense, show it off! Our advice? Remove “mother of the bride” from your search altogether and look for formal or black tie gowns that flatter you and make you feel amazing.

When it comes to wedding guest attire, it’s rarely cut-and-dry. What worked for a formal wedding in May may not work for a black tie wedding in October. Adhering to the dress code is of the utmost importance, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it!
