The Sweetest Soirée

We are obsessed with Emma and Jacob’s sweet spring soirée! Lush greenery, floating floral blooms, and candle light glow made for the perfect romantic ceremony. The gray and dusty rose color scheme is gorgeous for spring and complimented the green floral perfectly. Some of our favorite parts of Emma and Jacob’s wedding? Their adorable ring pup Harvey (named after Harvey Kinkle of course!), the fun live painting during the reception, and the sweet monogrammed dinner napkins.

We asked Emma what her favorite part of the day was and here’s what she had to say: “I have no idea how to pick a favorite part! We loved every minute of it. From being able to relax and enjoy the day with our friends and families without any of us having to really worry about doing anything to the private last dance and confetti exit to the classic vintage car we rode away in! I guess if I have to pick a favorite though, it would be the private dinner while everyone else was at the cocktail hour.”

how they met

This sweet couple have been together for pretty long time. They met during the summer of 2008 when Emma was a lifeguard and Jacob was working with the city for an internship. Part of his job included going around to all of the local pools and making sure everything was working properly – and that’s how they met. The two would have simple conversations by the pool every now and then but that was it. One night Emma felt brave enough to ask a friend’s older brother (who happened to be friends with Jacob) for his number, but he wouldn’t give it to her. Turns out Jacob was crushing on her too! He commented on her MySpace page, asking for her number and the rest is history.

how he proposed

For the proposal, Jacob tried to surprise Emma with a picnic at the Dallas Arboretum but he’s terrible at keeping things from her and kind of gave it away. Jacob dropped subtle hints that Emma picked up on throughout the week. He scheduled Emma an appointment at the blow dry bar for that morning. At the time she had injured her foot running and had to wear a boot but Jacob was adamant about her not wearing to lunch. The two also like to build and refinish furniture and Jacob practically forced Emma into wearing gloves which was totally out of character. Finally, he asked her if she wanted to get her nails done – something Emma doesn’t do often.

On October 13th, Jacob took a half day and wanted to take Emma out for a picnic at the Arboretum. He pulls out a handmade wooden ring box from the picnic basket and proposed before they could even eat!

Exceeded all of my

very high

expectations

The entire Pop Parties team is the most organized, communicative, and on-it team I have encountered Their response time is unbelievable and made my entire wedding day stress-free. Not one detail was missed, and the wedding was the most beautiful and fun evening. They maintained professionalism, while also feeling like a close friend through the entire process. I could not recommend them enough.
