Whimsical Nature Wedding

Stephanie and her mom Mary dreamed of a wedding as gorgeous as their backyard, inspired by the arboretum. Planning this gorgeous day  left us with no choice but to give them the whimsical nature wedding of the season! Last May, Matt and Steph tied the knot in a traditional catholic ceremony in Dallas, TX. Their wedding was recently featured on Strictly Weddings. Check out some of these beautiful highlights from their big day, full of love and LOTS of custom detailing.

Matt and Stephanie share a particularly special love story – one that began over twenty years ago.  Although the two had no interest in one another all those years, their mothers tried frequently to set up younger siblings. Nevertheless, Matt and Stephanie quickly found themselves falling for each other after they spent time together at an annual family holiday party.

Custom Detailing

Following the ceremony, guests were greeted to the hotel by two fourteen foot peach trees, inspired by their love for the outdoors. Escort cards were built into logs and adorned with tree stumps and lush florals. Custom stage facades, and bars were made to match the brown cross back chairs in the overall design. A raining floral halo, and custom dance floor decal also accented the room to match the couples invitation suite. The favorite detail of the evening? 300 personalized wood chip napkin rings which served both as the place card for the table and favor for guests.

Emotions ran high through the entire wedding day, as the mother of the bride suffered a life-altering accident a few years prior, leaving her paralyzed. Watching her beam as she hugged her daughter and new son-in-law was a touching moment for all of those in the room. She even lead the entire dance floor in a conga line!

The grooms love for music made for a memorable evening with a special performance from the groom himself.  As the lead singer for Prophets and Outlaws, a national touring Texas soul band. Their single “Soul Shop” was in full form at the wedding. (click for video!) Matt serenaded his new bride Stephanie on stage while 300 friends and family sang the lyrics to the special song, written about moments like those, surrounded by loved ones.

Their wedding day ended with a beautiful sparkler send off and a day full of memories to last a lifetime. Congrats Matt and Steph and Happy ONE Year Anniversary!
