Bold, unique, modern. Those are all words our bride Roni used to describe her vision when we started chatting about wedding design. The Westin Downtown Dallas served as the perfect modern backdrop with 360 views of the city, but with one problem: ugly carpet. After a mini-sales pitch, we all agreed to recarpet the space in white to really make her bold color palette pop! Our favorite highlights from their big day include the “Love Notes” escort wall, where highlighted the bride’s family tradition of writing something you love or are thankful for about each person on special occasions. Also the custom 7-11 slurpee cups as a nod to their wedding date, and the brides choice of red roses throughout – inspired by her late grandmothers favorite flower.
Although Roni and Mark were acquaintances in high school, Roni always told her friends she would never date the HS football star, until one night in college after staying in touch that their chemistry became real. Their love of college sports, a great party, and fun family outings brought them even closer as the years grew on. Mark proposed on July 4th in Hawaii, and this date ended up being extra special after COVID postponed the big event. Roni and Mark were married in a small intimate wedding on 7/11/20, their original date, and celebrated in a big way with extended friends and family on 7/4/21, two years after the proposal!
