With all of their preferences in mind, we set out to design a wedding that was a unique reflection of Courtney and Will as a couple by putting quirky, modern touches on everything about their big day. Her classic style of black and white formed the foundation for the color scheme, and we accented it with a variety of textures like mirror, acrylic, glitter chargers, velvet furniture and lush florals. Their love for science and learning was pulled through in the venue choice - the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, and as a fun seating chart "element." A bold dance floor was added as a centerpiece to the room, and a unique Chihuly inspired wedding cake, paired with a race car cake for Will. Their wedding design and party checked all of the boxes for Courtney and will, joyful, goofy, nerdy and adventurous!
On their way home from a blind date at an EDM concert, both Courtney and Will separately told friends that they may have found "the one." Two years later, both proposed to one another after Will moved cross country to support Courtney as she finished her PHd. Their love of science, and fantasy novels help to inspire their wedding location and design aesthetic. Courtney described her style to us as "glam, art deco, and a little modern." For their wedding the two wanted nerdy touches, and a timeless evening full of black and white. "We really want this to be a joyful celebration that reflects US. Goofy, nerdy, mischievous, adventurous. We aren’t tied to tradition at all. We’d prefer everyone have fun and make memories, rather than checking a bunch of boxes."
